The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum presents the development of ballooning through historic, scientific and artistic objects reflecting world-wide achievements in this field. The mission of Sandoval County CASA is to advocate for abused and neglected children involved in the court system.  CASA volunteers serve as "fact-finders" for the court and make recommendations about the best interests of children and youth living in foster care.  We support every child's right to a safe, permanent, nurturing home. Sandoval County CASA is based in Rio Rancho and Bernalillo, New Mexico (northwest of Albuquerque).  We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds.

Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program

The Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program is a national award winning program supported by the NRA Foundation.  It is a firearms safety program designed for Pre-K through 3rd grade. This is a non gun handling, not shooting, non political program. The New Mexico Solar Energy Association is dedicated to promoting solar energy and related sustainable practices. It takes a lot of people to create a smooth running organization that provides such education and outreach. Please volunteer!  
Planned Parenthood has volunteer opportunities available. Some paid positions, too. "Our goal at Planned Parenthood is to give you up-to-date, clear information that helps you better understand your sexual health."  
ReadWest Adult Literacy Program has been serving adults in the Rio Rancho community for 20 years! We provide volunteers to tutor adults, one to one, in Basic Reading and English as a Second Language.
Tutors are trained FREE of charge and then matched with a student. No foreign language or teaching experience is necessary to be a tutor! If you are interested in being a Volunteer Tutor, please call, 892-1131.

Wings for L.I.F.E. Blog. When someone is arrested the whole family suffers. Wings for L.I.F.E. asks for volunteers and provides many services for families. The Wings for L.I.F.E. mission is to build relationships with families, probationers and former inmates through discussion, mentoring, empowerment and support.  
At the YMCA, your time and talent go a long way. Every hour you spend as a YMCA volunteer translates into the caring attention a child or teen needs to grow up healthy and resilient.  Lead an exercise class, read to a preschool class, coach a basketball team, cook for a bake sale, design a program brochure, greet people at the front desk, help at the pre-school or infant care center, find items for an auction and much more. Meals on Wheels has close to 400 volunteers who staff four different sites in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, participate in fundraising activities, work in the Meals on Wheels kitchen and office, and/or deliver meals to the homebound to provide social interaction to meal recipients.

West
Storehouse West has numerous programs for which they need your help. Check out these projects that volunteers made happen. The Copper Crusade, Aluminum Cans, Food Donations, Clothing. Volunteers are the backbone of Storehouse West.

HARVEST

RoadRunner Food Bank of New Mexico Help with warehouse tasks, work in the Repack Facility, provide administrative support, help out with maintenance and cleaning, hold food drives, assist with our special events, and many other activities. the will be offering tours of their new building Wednesday mornings at 8:30 and evenings at 5:30. People's Anti Cruelty Association /Albuquerque Animal Rescue (PACA), a No-Kill rescue group, was founded in 1973. House Rabbit Society New Mexico is a small collection of dedicated volunteers working to help rabbits who need homes in New Mexico, with a special focus on the Albuquerque area.  
Rabbitwise's Bunderground Railroad RabbitWise® is comprised of rabbit-knowledgeable volunteers in consultation with professionals and organizations in animal welfare, rabbit rescue, and animal medical services related fields to educate for the improved care and welfare of the domestic rabbit.  
The Sheep Sanctuary is the only animal sanctuary in Santa Fe County or in New Mexico,  that specializes in the care and shelter of sheep and goats in addition to other farm and domestic animals.

Wildlife Rescue Inc., of New Mexico Because their Clinic is part nursery, part ICU, and part rehabilitation hospital, they are not permitted to allow the public beyond the front office.   
Wildlife West Enhanced Zoo open daily Summer 10-6, Winter 12-4 or by appointment. Provides a very special look into the animals and plants that are part of the ecosystems of New Mexico and the Southwestern United States. All the birds and animals at Wildlife West Nature Park are non-releasable, in keeping with our philosophy of bringing education to the public without harming ecological balances in other parts of the region. Volunteers are a vital part of our operation.
